An American recycling company in New Jersey that prepares recyclable waste from New York city searched for a solution for its incoming dry waste consisting of cardboard, newspapers, paper, glass, aluminium cans and plastic bottles.
Contradictory to the Dutch practice where these waste streams are collected separately, this waste is collected co-mingled in the US. For this purpose db technologies supplied a solution in the form of three interconnected separation screens and a conveyor. With the plant dry waste is separated into several waste streams, thereby preparing it for re-use. One of db’s sorting systems is the world’s largest paper screen which is designed and produced completely in the Netherlands.
